10. No client - just Holmes' curiosity :) (some would probably say Peterson brought the case to Holmes...but really, he just brought him the blue carbuncle. Holmes ended up catching a criminal as a result..but it wasn't really a presented case :D)

Oh my word, I totally missed that round. *blushes* Whoops...probably for the best, though; I would have failed miserably. =D
ReplyDeleteGrace, you read my thoughts about myself exactly. (It's basically the same as my comment on the questions for the trivia post.)
ReplyDeleteOh, so we watched The Second Stain last night...besides just enjoying JB (yes, I have converted to calling him such) and everything, there was this one part after the Lucas guy got murdered and Watson is reading the newspaper to Holmes and it's *hilarious*! The little conversation that made me just about die was as follows:
Watson- "The valet was out,"
Holmes (with his usual whatever look)- "They always are."
Watson- "The whole house was asleep and heard nothing,"
Holmes- "They never do."
It was just so amazingly humorous...I encourage who ever wants to, to go and watch the episode on YouTube. (Mainly just for that part...but anyways...)
Oh, I saw the preview for the new Holmes movie...and I can only utter one word about how I feel: disgusted.
I LOVE The Second Stain episode, so full of great moments, like that one! =) Especially the ending.
ReplyDeleteA local PBS station of ours has been playing the JB episodes every week, so I've been really excited; maybe after people see these adaptations, they'll realize how BAD the new movie will be.
@Grace - you're fine :) I was curious why you were so quiet though. lol
ReplyDelete@Mary - I LOVE LOVE the Second Stain :) I laughed a lot :)
@Marian - I wonder if our PBS is playing them? I would love to see them on the tv...youtube sometimes has such terrible quality...and blurs poor JB's face :( lol And I agree...the new movie looks awful. I'm not looking forward to the day my parents see it and make me explain why I like Sherlock Holmes so much, if it's so bad :| heh
I obviously have not been haunting this enough, I shall proceed to haunt it more. :-)
ReplyDeleteBy the way any recommandations for good Holmes movie to start with?
*hunches under rain of suggestions* :-D

Oh dear...there's so many good ones! If you're going to start with the Jeremy Brett ones (which I highly recommend you do...he's perfect for the role :D)...I started with "The Dancing Men" (yes, I know it's massively out of order) only because that's one of my favorite stories in the canon. (you can find them all on youtube, btw, if you didn't already know). But it's really up to you. Honestly, I don't like the later ones as much because I hate seeing JB so sick (because you can tell in a lot of the later ones)...not to mention all my favorite stories are earlier in the series. But that's just me. lol Don't let that sway you :D
ReplyDeleteI think I will post a list of the Granada episodes for everyone's future reference...that might be helpful ;)
Thanks Bre.
